Do I need to purchase Wrath of the Lich King Classic to play it?

No. Access to Wrath of the Lich King Classic is included in and available to all players with an active World of Warcraft subscription—no additional purchase required.

Will I be able to level my Death Knight up before the expansion arrives?

Yes. Sometime before Wrath of the Lich King Classic is released, the game client will be updated, and players who wish to level up a Death Knight character to level 70 will be able do so without restrictions.

What are the requirements to play a Death Knight?

Unlike the original release of Wrath of the Lich King, there are no requirements to create your first new Death Knight character. You may still only have one Death Knight character per realm, and any Death Knights created beyond your first on any realm require you to have an existing level 55 character on that realm.

Will there be a Character Boost for Wrath of the Lich King Classic?

If you don’t have characters ready for the journey to Northrend and are interested in dethroning the Lich King with your friends, we will offer an optional Character Boost service closer to the launch of Wrath of the Lich King Classic.

This boost will not be usable on Classic Era characters; in addition, players will be limited to boosting only one character per World of Warcraft account. Further details, including details around pricing and availability, will be announced at a later date.

Will Wrath of the Lich King Classic support value-added services like Character Transfers?

Yes. Like in WoW Classic and Burning Crusade Classic before it, Wrath of the Lich King Classic will offer the Character Transfer service. We have no plans at this time to offer new services, but keep an eye on https://worldofwarcraft.com/news for future updates.
